Dam...

Remeber the opening sequence for the movie 'GoldenEye'? It begins with a crazy 220 meter bungee jump from the top of a dam. That dam is actually the Verzasca dam in Switzerland. Unless you're a big game hunter, you may not have been paying attention to the advances in ' digital scouting cameras' as of late. Many companies are now making excellent products for discreetly photographing wildlife in it's various forms.

So, it was inevitable - with all this electronic mapping going on, someone was bound to get a look at something they weren't supposed to see. Aston's Cousin

Henrik Fisker - the gent who designed the Aston Martin DB9 - has been working with Artega to produce the Artega GT. Shown at the 2007 Geneva Auto show, they should be ready for sale next summer. The first production run is 500 cars - so, you might have to do a little fast talking if you want one of the first ones. Top speed is estimated at 270Kmh. Sale price is estimated at 75000 Euros.

Next month, the folks at Aeroscraft will be announcing the the ML866. Originally designed for military purposes (the Walrus project), this blimp/airplane hybrid was to be used for moving massive amounts of cargo. The US Department of Homeland security is working on a flashlight that will upset your stomach. Literally. A pulse of high energy light can cause waves of nausea -- making it easy to subdue bad guys. Hover cars almost ready for chase...

They're almost ready. The M200X series hover cars have been announced by the Moller group. These non-FAA regulated recreation vehicles will be on sale soon. They will hover about 10 feet over the ground, and travel at a top end of about 50 miles per hour. Which should be excellent for chasing an evil scientist across a swampy terrain.

A new biometric technology was announced by the smart guys at Hitatchi. They have developed a system called 'finger vein money'. Similar to a finger print reader, it reads the blood vessels under the skin - making the system much harder to fool. Look for it being tested at ATMs in Japan. No word on them developing a better name for it yet.
