Seems the guys over at Northrop Grumman have put their finishing touches on the the first weaponized laser system (just in time for the Christmas season). The units are not exactly hand held - but can be chained together to form a large scale solid state laser for defensive or offensive purposes. The system is being marketed under the catchy name 'Firestrike'. Cost: negotiable.
